Tobi-Kadachi is weak to Water and Fire. Break the head first and bring a Bow if you want the cleanest first clear. Cut the tail to cut the current.
Field notes
Tobi-Kadachi overview
Tobi-Kadachi uses vertical space better than almost any early monster. It climbs, glides, and charges its fur with electricity before dropping back into the fight. The tail is the source of much of that electrical pressure, and severing it simplifies the second half.
Water is the best element. The back and head are useful break targets, but the tail is the tactical priority. Ranged weapons can keep shooting while the monster climbs; melee should wait near the landing zone instead of chasing the wall.

Breakable parts & materials
The recommended break order is: 1. Head, 2. Back, 3. Tail. This is the safest sequence for a typical first hunt. If your armor or weapon recipe needs a specific part, target that break and leave the rest for a later run.

Hunt plan
How to beat Tobi-Kadachi
Cut the tail before the charge
The tail powers many of Tobi-Kadachi's electrical attacks. Sever it after a landing or a wall transition. A tail cut reduces the reach of the electric follow-ups and is one of the more valuable breaks for gear.
Wait for the descent
Do not chase Tobi-Kadachi up a wall. Position near the center of the arena and watch for the leap. The glide ends in a predictable landing with a short recovery, which is your cleanest head or back window.
Bring Water, respect the spark
Water weapons are the best answer. Avoid standing in the electrified ground after a slam and keep one dodge for the second hop. The monster's speed can bait a greedy roll, so use short combos.
Break the back for materials
The back can be broken during a topple. It is not as fight-changing as the tail cut, but it unlocks a separate material and helps with armor upgrades. Take it when the monster is grounded and the head is not exposed.
Radiantite watch
Radiant form & variant notes
Radiant Tobi-Kadachi is a confirmed transformed hunt. Radiant Tobi-Kadachi is in the transformed beta roster. Its electrical wall runs become the main problem; cut the tail and wait for a landing instead of chasing it. The Radiant part break is the cleanest way to stop the powered state.
Radiant rule
Carry the base weakness but plan for the new hazard. A safe clear with slightly lower damage is better than a perfect elemental build that spends half the fight healing. Read the Radiant species guide.
Preparation
Tobi-Kadachi checklist
- Water is the primary weakness; Fire is a usable alternative.
- Sever the tail to reduce electrical reach.
- Wait for the landing instead of chasing wall runs.
- Short combos beat long animations against its speed.
First-clear rule
Pick one break, one element and one safe punish. Do not try to optimize the entire hunt before you have survived it once.
