Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is weak to Thunder and Ice. Break the head first and bring a Hammer if you want the cleanest first clear. Break the crest before it breaks your camera.
Field notes
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku overview
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is not the hardest hunt on the roster, but it might be the most annoying. The flash attack blinds hunters at the worst possible moment and leaves them open to the follow-up peck or a passing monster. The head crest is the source of the flash, and breaking it is the fastest way to end the light show.
Thunder is the best element. Hammer and Great Sword can crack the head during the long flash animation, while Bow can stay at range and avoid the cone. The fight becomes straightforward once the flash is controlled.

Hunt plan
How to beat Tzitzi-Ya-Ku
Break the head crest
The flash comes from the head. Focus the crest from the side while the monster is preparing the display. A head break shortens or disables the flash attack, which immediately makes the rest of the hunt easier.
Do not look into the light
When the head flares, turn the camera away or dodge behind the body. The flash cone is wide but does not wrap behind the monster. Use the body as cover and re-engage after the pulse.
Punish the display
The flash animation is long if you avoid the blind. This is the best Hammer or Great Sword window in the fight. If you are already blinded, stay calm, hold a guard if you have one, and wait for the recovery.
Watch for the second monster
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku often shares a zone with a larger monster. The flash can blind you just before an unrelated attack. Clear the small monster first or start the fight only after the larger threat has moved on.
Radiantite watch
Radiant form & variant notes
Radiant Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is a confirmed transformed hunt. Radiant Tzitzi-Ya-Ku appears in the beta roster. Its flash game is joined by Radiantite pressure, so breaking the head crest is more important than ever. Wear Thunder resistance, use the body as cover and take the head break before the powered phase gets messy.
Radiant rule
Carry the base weakness but plan for the new hazard. A safe clear with slightly lower damage is better than a perfect elemental build that spends half the fight healing. Read the Radiant species guide.
